Blue Velvet

A 1986 recording of the blues standard "Baby What You Want Me to Do" by Maureen "Moe" Tucker, Jad Fair, Kate Messer and Barry Stock, featuring David Fair, is being shared as a cover of the Jimmy Reed original. The pairing of the Velvet Underground drummer with the lo-fi duo Half Japanese's frontman makes the old session a curiosity for music fans.

A new retrospective piece ranks every film and show Kyle MacLachlan made with director David Lynch, including Dune, Blue Velvet, and Twin Peaks. The two formed one of cinema's most famous actor-director partnerships, with MacLachlan often serving as Lynch's on-screen alter ego. Following Lynch's death in January 2025, fans and writers continue revisiting and reassessing their shared body of work.
