A former Bethesda lorekeeper on The Elder Scrolls says the series never received a Fallout: New Vegas-style spinoff, in which another studio took the franchise in a new direction, because Bethesda is 'very protective' of The Elder Scrolls. The comment lands as Skyrim nears its 15th anniversary while The Elder Scrolls 6 remains in development at Bethesda Game Studios, sparking fresh debate about the long gap between releases and whether outside studios should get a turn with the fantasy series.
