Bergson

Malaysia routed arch-rivals Singapore 6-0 in a decisive FIFA ASEAN Cup Group A match, with striker Bergson scoring a hat-trick. The heavy defeat knocked Singapore out of the tournament, while the win was not enough for Malaysia to reach the final. Coach Tan Cheng Hoe took heart from the dominant performance despite his side falling short of the last two, and the lopsided scoreline in the fierce rivalry is drawing wide reaction.
