The Manhattan School of Music's Tactus Ensemble, its contemporary music group, gives a concert tonight at Ades Performance Space in New York. The programme pairs contemporary classics with soundpainting, an improvised live-composition technique in which a performer gestures to musicians to build music in real time. It is part of the school's ongoing new-music concert series.
