Presentations and slide shows: an open-source, clean-room reimplementation of Microsoft PowerPoint in pure Rust. Part of the ArtCraft Crafting Apps.
DeckCraft is an open-source, clean-room reimplementation of Microsoft PowerPoint written in pure Rust. It supports building slide decks with themes, layouts, shapes, tables, charts, animations and transitions; opening and saving .pptx files; and presenting full screen on macOS, Windows, Linux, FreeBSD, and the web. Every UI action is also exposed as a command drivable via CLI or AI agents through MCP.
Why now: It's a new project gaining traction on GitHub's most-starred new repos, notable for being a Rust PowerPoint clone that AI agents can control via MCP — and it's still in early development heading toward its first alpha.
Who it is for: Developers and Rust enthusiasts interested in an open, agent-controllable alternative to PowerPoint, plus presenters wanting a cross-platform slide tool.
