Small macOS command-line utility to keep your MacBook awake after you close the lid.

caffeinate+ is a small macOS command-line utility that keeps your MacBook awake even after you close the lid. Run it with sudo, stop with Ctrl+C or SIGTERM, and the Mac sleeps if the lid is still closed when it exits.

Why now: It was just posted on Hacker News as a lightweight alternative to existing lid-closed 'clamshell' tools, drawing attention to how simply it solves this common annoyance.

Who it is for: MacBook users who want to run downloads, builds, or servers with the lid closed, without an external display or power adapter.
