Pi-hole-class DNS ad-blocker on a $2 ESP32-C3 (no PSRAM): 537k domains as 40-bit FNV-1a hashes in flash, binary-searched. UDP DNS sinkhole + web dashboard. https://youtube.com/shorts/RaxszOUMi8E?feature=share

A Pi-hole-style DNS ad-blocker firmware that runs on a $2 ESP32-C3 without PSRAM. It stores 537k blocked domains as sorted 40-bit FNV-1a hashes in flash and binary-searches them, using only ~50 KB of RAM, answering lookups in ~10 ms. Includes a UDP DNS sinkhole, web dashboard, and over-the-air updates for firmware and blocklists.

Why now: It got press coverage from Tom's Hardware, XDA Developers, and Korben for cramming 537k domains into a $2 chip using a hash-in-flash trick instead of the usual RAM-heavy approach.

Who it is for: DIY networking and IoT hobbyists who want cheap, low-power network-wide ad blocking on spare router hardware.
