Ears for coding agents: let AI hear, review and make sound. CPU-only, open source.
earshot gives AI coding agents the ability to hear: it describes audio in words, matches sounds to descriptions, finds moments in long recordings, detects synthesized vs real audio, scores launch videos against pro references, and even generates sounds in code that improve by listening. It runs locally on CPU as a CLI, Python API, and MCP server, with a bank of 201 code-rendered sound effects for films.
Why now: Recently released v0.3 adding sound-effect generation for code-made films, and trending as a most-starred new repo with a launch film made entirely by the tool itself.
Who it is for: Developers building AI agents that create or review audio, demos, and videos — especially Claude Code users wanting sound review and generation.
