Custom 64-bit monolithic operating system kernel written in C, featuring a graphical desktop environment, networking, and built-in AI terminal support

LimonOS is a hobby 64-bit x86 monolithic OS kernel written from scratch in C, bootstrapped with Limine. It ships a graphical desktop, its own TCP/IP and TLS stack, a built-in AI terminal, and a text-mode web browser called Citrus that renders pages from a DOM with a subset of CSS, but no JavaScript, images, or external stylesheets yet.

Why now: Recent 0.7–0.9 releases fixed real-world TLS/TCP issues so Citrus can load Google and DuckDuckGo, and added DOM+CSS rendering — impressive progress for a from-scratch kernel, which got it discussed on Hacker News.

Who it is for: OS development hobbyists and systems programmers curious about building browsers, network stacks, and kernels from scratch.
